The Leeds United College Elite Player Development Scholarship offers talented young players between the ages of 16 and 18 a unique pathway to access a first class education combined with an elite training experience.
Our exclusive partner clubs play weekend non league football which provides the opportunity to combine a complete technical, tactical and physical experience that is designed to bridge the gap into academy football.
Games Programme
Players will represent Leeds United College in the National Football Youth League and Cup.
Teams will play against other Premier League and Football League teams, such as Burnley FC, WBA, Everton FC, Liverpool FC, Chelsea FC, Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace.
Teams will also have the opportunity to play in showcase friendly matches against professional UK club academies and touring foreign academies.
Training
Leeds United College provide a full time programme that contains coaching & development at an elite standard and promotes player pathways. The squads will function in two tiers which will interchange based on performance, attitude and academic progress.
Performance Analysis
Through our Coach Logic platform we provide collective team and individual performance analysis. This online platform also provides an online internal network for all players and coach’s within our programmes at all our hubs.
Strength and conditioning
All players will start with an intensive pre-season fitness programme, players will then be provided with weekly gym and pitch based S&C training to carry out throughout the season. Coaches will also provide players with quarterly reviews to include individual training plans to improve their physical development and support injury prevention.
Nutrition
A nutritional guide will be provided to support performance.
Technical Staff
Experienced staff with a track record in producing players for the professional and semi professional game.
Education
The educational framework will be delivered by Leeds United College staff committed to delivering an outstanding education experience. The Scholarship includes a two-year Level 3 qualification designed to cover the core elements of sporting performance and excellence such as Anatomy, Physiology, Coaching, Psychology and Analysis. The course is equivalent to 3 A-Levels and particularly suits those wanting to enter employment in the sports industry as sport coaches, physiotherapist, sports scientists and for those wishing to progress to higher education to study a sport related degree such as coaching, sports therapy and sports science.
