Burton Albion Community Trust (BACT) is a registered charity and an award-winning organisation. The Football and Education Programme, which runs male and female teams, is delivered in partnership with Burton & South Derbyshire College.
The programme is designed to guide young adults aged 16-18 though their journey as student athletes. The course combines practical and theory based approaches to increase an athlete’s performance on the field, and increase their knowledge of the wider sporting industry.
The programme enables students to gain an excellent education, by gaining industry recognised qualifications delivered by Burton and South Derbyshire College, meanwhile, students train and play for Burton Albion Football Club with coaching received from UEFA and FA qualified football coaches.
The Football and Education Team has a strong link with our BAFC academy scholars, with games between both squads played at St Georges Park. The link between the football club and the programme started 11 years ago, with success stories like; John Brayford (Current first team player), Cameron Steele (Scholar – Playing at step 3), and Will Mansfeild and Natalie Ely both have gone to the states to play football at University.
