Sunderland FOL Scholar Jael makes England debut. A teenager from Foundation of Light’s Ladies Scholarship programme made her debut for England Women’s Under 17s against Japan recently. Jael will soon be jetting off to play European champions Germany in Salou.

Omari Sterling James progressed from the NFYL and Birmingham City FC CT to sign his first professional contract at Cheltenham Town. Omari now plays alongside CJ Hamilton at Mansfield Town. 
Victoria represents Sunderland's Foundation of Light's team in the NFYL and at the age of 16 has also represented FA Women’s Premier League side Newcastle United First Team this season.

“I’m studying A Levels in Biology, Psychology and PE at Monkwearmouth Sixth Form Academy as well as playing for Newcastle and the Scholars. I’ve found balancing my studies and football easy to be fair.” 
Former Watford FC Trust player Randell Williams progressed from the trust to put pen to paper for Crystal Palace but has now returned to Watford to sign professional terms with his former club. 
Former Burton Albion CT player Ashley Hunter signed professional terms for Fleetwood Town. 
Another Watford FC Trust success story is midfielder Josh Wallen who signed professional terms with QPR. Josh is U23's Captain and signed a new one year extension in April 2017. 
Striker Lewis Irwin made the step up from Northampton Town's Development programme to sign scholarship terms with Northampton Town Youth Team. 
Former Tottenham Hotspur Foundation player Emmanuel Osadebe signed professional terms with Gillingham from the Foundation. He is now contracted to League two side Cambridge Utd. 
Ben Richards-Everton progressed from the Birmingham City FC CT programme when he signed scholarship terms at Carlisle Utd. After making his mark playing for Partick Thistle and Dunfermline he returned to English football after signing professional terms with Accrington Stanley in 2017. 
Goalkeeper Niall Clayton is another product of the Birmingham City FC CT programme who signed scholarship terms at Oxford United. 
John Brayford progressed from the Burton Albion CT scheme into the Burton first team under Manager Nigel Clough in his 98-09 reign at Burton. Clough took Brayford to Derby with him and Brayford is now back at Burton with Clough.
